New Area Opens Just in Time for Spring Break!
As LEGO celebrates its 50th anniversary, LEGOLAND California launches Land of Adventure – an entirely new area based on the popular Adventurers product line – just in time for Spring Break!
Transporting guests into 1920s Egypt, Land of Adventure introduces Park guests to four new attractions, including Lost Kingdom Adventure, the Park’s first-ever dark (indoor) ride. Based in ancient temple ruins, Lost Kingdom Adventure takes explorers in desert jeeps, armed with laser blasters, on an interactive journey to recover stolen treasure.
Adjacent to the hidden ruins, a different adventure awaits with rides Cargo Ace and Beetle Bounce. Cargo Ace helps imaginations soar as children become pilots boarding one of eight airplanes and flying up to six feet into the air. Beetle Bounce boosts children to even bigger heights – nearly 15 feet – as they are launched up one of two towers. At Pharaoh’s Revenge, children and parents fire thousands of foam balls at targets and each other in an oasis of fun.
Land of Adventure features more than 75 new models utilizing more than half a million LEGOÒ bricks. Models range from a small diamond ring in the treasure room of Lost Kingdom Adventure made of just 19 bricks to the 16-foot-tall Pharaoh model made of more than 300,000 standing guard over the entire area.
Land of Adventure opens March 10, 2008, and Master Model Designer Bill Vollbrecht will be available on March 14 to give your audience a close up look Land of Adventure at LEGOLAND California.
