Tomorrow's Car (1/3)
We are going to take a closer look tonight at the future of automobiles.
There is a race, right now, to develop a car that has all the comfort and speed of a regular car, but without the pollution.
Automobile manufacturers have spent billions on everything from battery-powered cars to one with solar panels.
Now they seemed to have settled on what was once an exotic technology: Fuel cell.
Today Diamler-Chrysler unveiled its entrance into the fuel cell race. Here's ABC's Bob Woodruff.
Diamler-Chrylser's newest car can travel at speeds up to 90 miles an hour.
It does not use gasoline, it produces no pollution, and it could go on sale soon.
