Friends and well wishers pay their respects outside Jade Goody's home in Essex southeast England.
The reality tv star, who made her name on Big Brother, passed away in her sleep early on Sunday morning.
She often sparked controversy, not least for her racist remarks towards Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, but for many she was an inspiration and raised public awareness about cervical cancer.
SOUNDBITE: JULIE HERBER, MOURNER, SAYING (English):
"Well I have been following Jade since she's been on Big Brother and I think she's an inspiration to young girls and I just think everyone should go and get their smear teasts done. Hopefully she's saved a lot of girls' lives."
SOUNDBITE: MOURNER, KIM LUTHER, SAYING (English):
"Absolutely normal girl, 27 and died, left two children, that's awful, she's our girl next door, our Essex princess and she will be remembered like that."
She chose to live out her final months in the full glare of the media.
Since leaving hospital for the last time, Goody had been living at the home she shared with her mother Jackiey. Too upset to come out, she asked family a family friend to deliver this message.
SOUNDBITE: KEVIN ADAMS, FRIEND, SAYING (English):
"Jackiey asked me to come out and say that there have been no funeral arrangements made as yet because they are still just in the planning process and reports otherwise are untrue and are upsetting for Jackiey so she would like it to stop and she said before she would just like this time for family and friends for private grieving. She thanks you for that, so thankyou."
Goody was just 27-years-old and the mother of two boys.
Now the family just want to be left alone to grieve.
